4th International Conference "Public Aquarium in The Modern World" was held on May 21-22, 2020 by the Saint-Petersburg Public Aquarium and International Business Centre Neptun.

In the light of the COVID-19 outbreak, taking the participants’ safety as a priority, the organizing committee proceeded remotely by web-conference through the special software. 272 delegates from 38 countries attended the conference during 2 days of work.

A welcome speech was made by a member of the Presidium of the Union of Zoos and Aquariums of Russia, Deputy General Director for property complexes operation of CJSC "Rubin" O.N. Ryabchuk. He noted the great interest among experts in the field of public aquarium to the discussed topics at sessions and round tables.
The great interest was expressed in Round tables on current topics:
Modern legal framework for public aquariums (N.V. Menshikova),
Plants in water exposures of public aquariums (Sergey I. Chubarov),
Environmental education based on public aquarium expositions (Alexander V. Korobkov). The round table was held in the format of discussion. We prepared discussion content in advance by learning of participants request.
25 speakers made presentations, 3 speakers held thematic round tables. There were more than a 100 messages in the chat.
